Mastercraftsman remains favourite to retain the 2000 Guineas for Aiden O’Brien next season after winning the National Stakes.

The dual group one winner looks every bit the classic winner in waiting after he took the race in very testing conditions putting to bed any worries he is not up to the mile trip. However his win in Ireland didn’t impress the bookies with the majority of the major firms leaving him at 6/1.
One of O’Brien’s other hopefuls Rip Van Winkle did do enough to get the bookmakers revising their opinions as he, on only his second career appearance, took a group three over seven furlongs at Leopardstown. Although he failed to settle early on, perhaps suggesting he is still a little green, he won well and looked to be the real deal.
The John Oxx trained Arazan failed to fulfil early promise when over two lengths behind our early favourite. Connections can’t even blame the going conditions as he has already performed well on the heavy stuff. After that defeat as odds on favourite his price was lengthened to 20/1 but it would be prudent just to keep an eye on this one despite the feeling that a mile might just be too far.
Shaweel at may represent decent each value at the moment after passing the post just that short head behind Mastercraftsman in the National stakes. The Gymcrack winner has progressed well after claiming that particular group two and looks like he will also stay the classic distance.

Manchester City fans were given a dose of reality at the weekend after Chelsea comfortably beat the Premiership’s newest billionaires in the ‘Clash of the Cash’.

After a remarkable few days at the newly nicknamed ‘Middle Eastlands’ the Blues faithful were given the chance to bask in the full spotlight of the footballing world.
And the City faithful must have thought all their Christmases, Birthday’s and Easters had come all at once when their new record signing Robinho scored 13 minutes into his debut. The thought of ‘this could really be it’ was still beginning to cross their minds though when Chelsea awoke them for their dreams of glory.
All too familiar poor City defending allowed Ricardo Carvalho to volley home three minutes later. From then on Chelsea were much the better side and ran out easy winners. The watchword for Manchester City fans over the next few months has to be ‘patience.’
Meanwhile Spurs’ poor start to the season has lead the bookies to make manager Juade Ramos just 4/1 to be the next premiership boss to leave his job. The Spaniard has overseen Tottenham’s poorest start to a campaign for some years and if they remain bottom much longer then that price could be value.
Favourite to go first is Bolton’s Gary Megson, which is a little lazy on the odds makers’ part as they always seem to plump for the Bolton boss. Steve Bruce is next at 6/1 despite Wigan’s good start with; the thinking he’ll leave for a bigger club soon.

He’s already been nicknamed King Midas and after England’s latest thrashing of South Africa new England Captain Kevin Pietersen could well be elevated to God-like status among his team-mates.

It would appear that the South African born skipper can do no wrong at the moment. His changes to the test side led him to a debut win. Then in the first one-day international he recalled Steve Harmison, promoted Freddie Flintoff to bat at five and they ran out winners again. He followed that with a 10 wicket victory in the latest match and all of a sudden he is untouchable.
England are now 1/10 at Stan James to win the five match ODI series while Kevin Pietersen has been slashed from 100/1 to 50/1 by Ladbrokes to be named BBC Sports Personality of the Year. Rivals Hills have gone as far as to offer 250/1 that he’ll stay undefeated as England captain for the rest of 2008.
This is all a far cry from the odds offered on KP when he stepped into the role with most firms going odds-on, as short as 1/6 with bet365, he would be less successful than previous captain Michael Vaughan. The big hitter was also 16/1 to break Nasser Hussain’s record of captaining England for 56 ODI matches I doubt you’d get such a generous return now.
This latest victory may have been good news for Pietersen but for those who backed South Africa on Betfair at 1/33 to score over 100 runs in their innings he is not such a hero.

There are many different games at the Ladbrokes online casino that i love to play, the ones I enjoy playing the most are the new games that get added to the site.

The thing I like about these games is the fact that I have a challenge in learning how to play them and what the rules of the games are.
The newest games at Ladbrokes Casino at the moment are The Bill And Ted Slot which is a multiplier slot that has many bonus features, Break Da Bank Again which is a 9 line 5 reel slot, Hip Hop Opotamus which is a 3 reel machine with the trail feature, Sure Win which is a 5 reel and 25 pay line slot and Track And Fieldmouse which is a traditional 3 reel slot. All of these fantastic slots games can either be played in Free play so that you can get used to the games before paying to play or Real play were you pay to play the games.
Some of the other games that are really good are Blackjack, Roulette and especially the Progressive Jackpots games which give you the chance to win outstanding amounts of cash, the cash prizes for these games can be either smaller amounts of cash or large amnounts of cash depending on how long ago the jackpot was won and how much cash has been put into them since.
